Drank from a 16 oz can dated 3/09/21. Straight from the can, this was very sweet with low hops and malt. Tasted more like an adjunct lager with massive amounts of sugar.

Terrible. Tastes like the Pawtucket River.

It is kind of impressive to be getting Foolproof BC distro down here in S-Central PA because I visited these guys early on in their history since they got into CANning from the jump. A former colleague was working for RIDE at the time & I would go up to visit & drink beer. I really did not foresee Foolproof getting as big as they have became. Cheers to CANtinued success!
From the CAN: "You are holding the Ocean State Lager - a bold, crisp lager brewed in homage to the great state of Rhode Island. With an extended cold fermentation, we’ve taken careful consideration to preserve the beer’s delicate nature. Ocean State Lager has a soft and subtle malt profile balanced with a refreshing hop flavor. Crack open a can, take a sip, and taste all that our state has to offer."; "Your Life Your Beer Experience Responsibly".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed nicely for me, forming just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, bubbly, bone-white head that wilted in the face of the day's heat & humidity. 8=( Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a clean, pleasant maltiness & I have to question why this was built as an "AAL". If I CANnot discern any adjuncts, I am going to submit a ChANge request at the end of my review. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, mere steps above watery, but what do you expect in/from a Lager? The taste was crisp, lightly toasty, lightly grassy & just very refreshing on this Summer's day. Finish was likewise crisp & dry & I CAN definitely see putting some of this AMERICAN LAGER in my beach-bound cooler. YMMV.

Can from a Lazy Dog
Hazy deep straw bordering on gold with a decent sized bubbly white head. Light apple aroma and flavor with bits of crackery malt and just a bit too much fruitiness, astringency and sulfur. Needs some tweaking.

L: light gold transparent yellow, no head
S: not much, hint of hops
T: typical lager, nothing mindblowing, no bad aftertaste. Tastes fine cool.
F: good carbonation and mouthfeel.
I ordered this as a draught pint and no complaints. Probably best served cold or chilled.

Disappointing, and huge corn presence as mentioned by many others. Not a clean beer at all, tastes occluded, not properly attenuated. Bought this and Jack's Abbey House Lager at the same time, needless to say the Jack's puts this to shame.

Appearance
Thin white head that falls to nothing. no Lacing. Clear light gold color.
Aroma
Canned corn. no discernable hops.
Flavor
Corny, light pale malts, sweet, no hops. Low bitterness.
Mouthfeel
On the heavy side for an AAL. Feels like a Helles or a Kolsch but with slightly more CO2. No harshness or astringency.
Overall
This is a good-feeling, drinkable lager but boring as hell. I'd rather have a regular 'Gansett' lager.
I suspect this may have been an old can and the beer was far from brewery fresh. But I'm playing the ball where it lands. I bought it at room temp off a shelf at the Rhode Island gift shop at the PVD airport, brought it home and chilled it. There is no freshness date, but there is an orange schmutz on the bottom the size of a pencil eraser. Perhaps a secret code?

This is an ok summer beer. It taste like they are trying to appeal to those that drink PBR and Budweiser but want to try something brewed by a craft beer company. Personally I will stay with Jack’s Abbey when I buy Larger beer to drink in the summer.
