i believe they are calling this one foedora now, which is clever. the beer is interesting, different than a lot of berliner types as its done in wood obviously, and that it has some wild elements to it along with the lactic acid produced on the front end. however, this sounds a lot better than it is, and probably should be somewhat better than it is, and lately prairie has lost its luster a little for me, especially with the wild stuff, its just not quite coming together the way it has in the past. this is almost flat from the tap, yellow, cloudy, and thin. it smells lemony, maybe a little dryhoppy, tangy and sour, less funky or oaky than it might be for being done in the foedre, and just kind of sweaty and not super well refined. the flavor is a lot like the nose, not bad in any way, and i always do enjoy a little more of the bretty wild side with the berliner, the one dimensional lacto profile is getting well worn these days, so its nice to see a little something different on the fermentation side, but its not all that delicious, distinct, dry, or funky. overall this isnt as bad as i am making it sound, but its absolutely not the best wild berliner going right now, and its almost totally flat, which kills a sour/wild beer for me more times than not. this should get better in future batches...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
