Heavy on the bourbon barrel, marshmallow and vanilla, but nothing else. Good if you like this stuff, which I do, but it's just so one sided that I have a hard time getting past these attributes.

No head or lacing, strong black oily look, and relatively light mouthfeel. If you like a strong Bourbon taste in your Stout, with some nice vanilla and marshmallow flavor, this one's for you!

12oz bottle, served in the proper beer group glassware- a stemmed glass. Pours a dark cola brown body, nearly black, one finger offwhite head, good retention, not much lacing. smell is rich vanilla bean, cocoa, milk chocolate, a bit of toasted grain, moderate bourbon aroma, touch of caramel, minimal coconut. It's heavy on the vanilla and milk chocolate, with the cocoa and bourbon providing a bit of a balancing opposition to what would otherwise be an overly sweet beer. This translates onto the flavour, strong vanilla is almost marshmallowy, good milk chocolate sweetness complementing the vanilla, with the bourbon providing a slight smokiness, heat and complexity along with the slightly bitter cocoa which keeps the beer from being too overly sweet. Mouthfeel is full bodied, smooth with a nice slightly warming bourbon heat mixed with some milk chocolate, slight marshmallowy finish. Overall, a damn good vanilla-forward beer with a great bourbon presence. I'm pleased with how this one turned out.
