I received my bottle in trade with the excellent Shelby 3161 and very oddly it had leaked close to two ounces into the box with the cap still intact. Nevertheless carbonation was fine, actually spot on for style, which is to say low but present enough to have a little life on the tongue. Visuals and aromatics probably the weakest point, an aggressive pour yielded little in the way of a head and no lace whatsoever. Aroma is fudge and very whiskey forward - it hit me in the face upon opening the box it came in.
This is a delicious beer, with pronounced, assertive barrel character and a lot of sweet dessert notes and a boozy finish. Brings the rum notes, vanilla, chocolate fudge in spades, and there’s a suggestion of mounds bars and so forth, but not a ton of coconut, my guess is that ship has sailed.
Hard to find fault here, unless really nitpicking. Rum barrel aged dessert stout? Check, hits them boxes.

Vary dark appearance with slight tan head. Aroma is a pleasant vanilla and coconut. Taste is a little harsh vanilla and slight coconut which is a little disappointing.
