12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/7/2018. Pours dense pitch black color with a small fluffy tan head with poor retention, that reduces to a minimal ring of lace pretty quickly. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, apple brandy, toasted oak, roasted nuts, and dark/brown bread/crust; with light notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Light brandy booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, marshmallow, cocoa nibs, brandy barrels, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, apple brandy, toasted oak, roasted nuts, and dark/brown bread/crust; with light notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Very mild herbal, roast, char bitterness; and brandy/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, apple brandy, toasted oak, roasted nuts, dark/brown bread/crust, coconut, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, marshmallow, cocoa nibs, brandy barrels, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with fantastic roasted bitter/sweet and brandy/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from bitterness and brandy/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and slightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 14%, with no lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged imperial pastry stout. All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, vanilla, marshmallow, cocoa nibs, brandy barrels, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/tannic/drying finish; amazingly soft feel for the ABV. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, flavorings, and brandy barrel presence/integration; light earthy hops, and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect. A bit heavier on the brandy barrel in the nose, than other similar variants I had before.

Pours a pitch black color with a thin foamy head (4 oz pour). No retention. Minimal lacing. Strong apple and chocolate aroma. Boozy. Sweet chocolate apple taste with a lot of bourbon. Very good. Medium to heavy bodied with mild carbonation.
