This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and no lacing.
None of the addded flavor really come through here, but I do get a lot of chocolate, a touch of apple brandy, lots of bourbon, oak, caramel, and a little bit of coffee like aroma.
I think the ambitious mix of barrels here has kind of muted the oreos and vanilla, but the chocolate does come through strongly in the aroma. It's entirely possible I'm just getting a fairly chocolatey base beer. The barrels play well together, and the okie gives some nice caramel type flavors. I get more bourbon than apple brandy.
This is medium bodied, creamy, silky, and velvety, with a good level of drinkability.
This feels like one of the more ambitious Dawg barrels. Even though the full flavor spectrum promised by the ingredients list doesn't come through, it's still a very tasty beer.
