Aged in the bottle for a year. Very dark appearance with slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is s very pleasant coconut and peanut butter. Taste is also a nice coconut, marshmallow, and brandy that is very smooth.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/2/2018. Pours opaque pitch black color with a small fairly dense and fluffy tan head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. No lacing on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Light coconut floaties on the surface. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, marshmallow, coconut, peanut butter, fudge, brownie batter, apple brandy, toasted oak, cookie wafers, and brown bread/dough; with light notes of coffee, smoke, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Slight brandy booze in the aromas and it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coconut, marshmallow, PB wafers, brandy barrels, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, marshmallow, coconut, peanut butter, fudge, brownie batter, apple brandy, toasted oak, cookie wafers, and brown bread/dough; with light notes of coffee, smoke, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Very mild herbal, roast, char bitterness; and brandy/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, marshmallow, coconut, peanut butter, fudge, brownie batter, apple brandy, toasted oak, cookie wafers, brown bread/dough, coffee, smoke, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coconut, marshmallow, PB wafers, brandy barrels, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a fantastic roasted bitter/sweet and brandy/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and brandy/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 14%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic barrel aged imperial pastry stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coconut, marshmallow, PB wafers, brandy barrels, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/tannic/drying finish; amazingly soft feel for the ABV. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, flavorings, and brandy barrel presence/integration; light earthy hops, and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter. Acquired in a trade.
Just like the rest of the dawg series, this pouts an inkjet black body with nice brown head that reduces to leave a ring of retention and little lacing.
Aromas are decadent and dessert-like, sweet coconut and vanilla wafers, fudge brownie, light Apple brandy.
On the tongue it’s rich and sweeter than other dawgz I’ve had, with French vanilla and creamy maple, Apple brandy which is less overpowering than other AB beers in this series, bittersweet chocolate on the follow through. Almost no booziness which is amazing considering the ABV. Rich thick mouthfeel but easy to drink.
Definitely a dessert beer. Tons of flavor, very enjoyable.
