12 oz. bottle poured into snifter
(bottle on 9/6/19 printed on neck)
L: classic black-and-tan look, the head is almost brown it's so dark; the head of foam is a late-percolating 1/4- to 1/2-inch tall; minimal sticking or lacing; keeps a tan/brown collar of foam
S: allspice, nutmeg to start with ... those two spices are super strong, even with the beer very cold; as it warms, chocolate pumpkin, then menthol ... or a mint chocolate chip ice cream note
T: like the aroma, the spices dominate at first with an allspice earthiness/bitterness so strong it comes off a lot like a chunk of bitter/burnt hops, the kind of flavor note you get in a fresh West Coast-style Russian imperial stout; as it warms, the friendlier, sweeter notes slowly start peeking in, but that allspice flavor seems always to be in the lead
F: slick and oily, at times thick but generally a bit slippery and lightweight for so big a beer; the carbonation is very light and working very well for the style; arguably the highlight of this beer
O: the aroma and mouthfeel are world class, but unless you're a fan of allspice, this one might be a bit disappointing; it definitely requires opening and warming up — the good sweet yummy notes don't really start popping until it's at least 50 degrees or warmer

12oz bottle poured into a Prairie Belgian-style tulip
p- pours black w/ no head; just a thin tan ring
n- med nose of roast, chocolate, spice, and dark sugars; inviting
t- quite a bit bolder than the nose lets on; rich chocolate, molasses, coffee and spices (predominantly nutmeg and cinnamon) combine with pumpkin and vanilla; lots going on here for sure; warming finish; balanced, well-executed, and ridiculously tasty
mf- med-bodied w/ soft-med carb; velvety smooth
o- another homerun from Prairie; one of the best pumpkin beers I've ever had

Black color. Medium-sized, beige head. Nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and roasted malt in the aroma. Rather sweet taste with a lot of pumpkin spices. Moderate, roasted bitterness at the end.

Found this in the back of my fridge and don't even remember buying it?
Here we go..
Pumpkin spice dominates...metallic notes abound...thin and lacks body...
What am I drinking here? 94? Do I have an off bottle or something?
This is ok but weird...past its prime?
Not sure
Just ok

Oily opaque pour from a 12oz bottle - minimal head and retention, as expected. Strong fall/spice presence on the nose and palate, lots of nutmeg to me, clove as well, cinnamon, a good dose of what I would consider pumpkin or gourd, maybe some vanilla or orange-like sweetness but those notes are mild. Roasted malt is there, but the coffee is very mild, I really don't get it and I'm looking for it. Still a nice fall-style, spiced imperial stout.

Look: It pours black with a dark brown head. Head retention is low.
Smell: The aromas are loaded with spices which include cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, and coriander. There are low roast aromas with clove.
Taste: Plenty of spices dominate the flavor with cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice leading the way. There is a sweetness to the flavor with sugar and roast. There are some orange elements with clove and coriander. There are low pumpkin flavors with maybe a touch of ginger.
Feel: It has a medium full body with plenty of alcohol warming.
Overall, this is a pumpkin spice bomb that overpowers most of the stout flavors. I personally, would like more of the stout flavors, but this beer is a great beer for spice lovers.
