Surprised at this one - yes there's some candy flavor there but it's not over the top and it really melded well with sweet and tart. Drank a little while after I'd worked out and was about the perfect beer for someone who was parched!

Dirty, pink color. Medium-sized, white head. Weird pieces of something I could not identify. Orange, lime zest and candies in the aroma. Tart taste with candy sweetness on the background.

What do I want from fruited kettle spurs? Well, sometimes a smoothie with booze thick style is the way to go, and other times I want a glass of hard Hawaiian Punch. This is more of the second. Tart more than sour, lingering stickiness, crisp finish. Excellent.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled like Skittles, actual Skittles. Sweet and tart Skittles-like taste with a touch of caramel.

Poured from a 12 ounce can dated 12-6-23 into a tulip glass.
Look- Deep orange, moderately hazy, no visible particulate, white bubbly head that disappears instantly, zero head retention and lacing.
Smell- Lemon-lime, orange, strawberry, medium strength of scent.
Taste- Lemon-lime, strawberry, orange, highly sour, highly sweet, high strength of flavor.
Feel- Thin body, above average carbonation, highly sour, highly sweet, moderately dry finish.
Overall- Appearance was a very deep orange color with zero head retention and lacing. Nose was fruity candy with medium strength. Flavor was reminiscent of a big handful of Skittles all chewed together with high strength. Feel was thin with high sweetness and sour. Overall this beer provided a nice drinking experience transporting me back to my childhood for a brief moment.

Canned 12/5/23
It’s not often I reach for sour beers from Prairie, but this one sounded interesting. I always liked Skittles and am curious to see how that translates into a Kettle Sour. Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours a cloudy orange gold with just a thin ring of white head that fades to nothing and leaves no lacing
It’s funny, if you didn’t tell me that this had Skittles in it, my first guess would’ve been Nerds, it definitely gives off that vibe. I’m picking up on aromas of grape Nerds, lime zest, orange jello, crackery malt, lemon sorbet, and light cinnamon
It’s definitely Skittles in taste, though more tart which is much appreciated. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting strawberry Skittles, lemon juice, orange juice, grape Nerds, crackery malt, lime zest, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of lemon juice, biscuity malt, Strawberry skittles, vanilla, orange juice, and lime zest
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes mostly dry and refreshing
Damn, I enjoyed this one more than I was expecting to. It’s not overly sweet and it’s super fun

Poured from 12oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 12/26/23; this batch is labeled as being 5.5% ABV.
Appearance: rich orange hue with a moderate haze and a finger of fizzy foam that lasts only a few seconds. Looks like orange soda. Which, I guess, is sort of the point.
Smell: yup, that’s candy alright! I’m getting skittles, of course, but also the peculiar sweetness of Bottle Caps candy. Not sure how to feel about this one — it’s what it says on the tin, for sure, but man it does not feel like beer to me.
Taste: it’s tart. It’s sweet. It’s candy. The citrus comes through well, although the “beeriness” is entirely lost. What can I say, it’s good — it’s candy! — but it’s not really “beer” to me.
Mouthfeel: light body with a bit of carbonation and a lightish fizziness.
Overall: this is 100% alcopop. I appreciate that it is crafted with care by an excellent brewery, and I acknowledge the idea here is to be candy. But I’d like a little bit less candy and a little bit more beer.
