Well Prairie, it’s been a minute. I don’t frequently buy their beers because they’re rather expensive, but I was intrigued by this one when I saw it on Tavour. Any sort of Chile Beer can go overboard easily, but doing it in a Fruited Kettle Sour alongside pineapple and mango actually sounds like a good idea. Let’s see if that idea is actually good in execution
Pours an opaque bright orange with 2 fingers of whitish orange head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose here is rather gentle, it’s fruit forward and the peppers just add some nice overtones. I’m picking up on aromas of pineapple juice, lemon zest, habanero, bready malt, underripe mango, light grass, and a touch of vanilla
It actually manages the balance even better in taste, with a little more from the peppers. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange juice, habanero, pineapple juice, mango skin, doughy malt, light vanilla, and a touch of papaya. The swallow brings notes of pineapple juice, habanero, guava juice, mango skin, bready malt, lemon zest, and vanilla
A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a balanced heat
I really dig this one. It’s fun and rather simple, but different enough to keep things interesting
