2023 vintage poured into a mead glass/small snifter.
A: Dark, dark brown with rim of brown mini-bubbled head and no lacing.
S: Fudgy, coffee, and medium and dark caramels with light roast note, but lighter than expected. Retronasal with light coffee and medium caramel.
T: Flavor explodes and redeems the somewhat weak nose with a salvo of coffee, medium and dark caramel, vanilla, and light oak dryness in the finish. I don't like tannins much, and this skirts right at the edge of aky and dry without the puckering quality I hate. The bourbon sweetness and heat is a great finish.
M: Dangerous feel but plenty sticky yet smooth with full body and light carbonation.
O: An excellent beer but I think I stil prefer BOMB! more.

Black color. Thin, beige head. Coffee, chocolate, and bourbon in the aroma. The same notes follow into the rich taste. Warming bourbon at the end. Good.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid imperial pours a deep
pitch black with a thin head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring,
subtle dusting layer, and faint lacing with light legs. Nose of light bourbon,
rich vanilla, espresso, dark chocolate, deep roast, char, and earthy malts.
Flavors hit the mark with rich espresso, earthy vanilla, bourbon, light
char, dark cocoa, and dash of brulee and oak. Mouth feel is full, smooth,
rich, moderately coating, warming, and finishing moderately dry and
with a bitter malt note.
Overall, a very nice brew from the good Prairie folk!
Cheers

Bottled 5/31/23. Poured at 52°. A Tavour purchase. Fizzy, mixed bubbles, dark brown head that disappeared leaving no cap nor lace, and fleeting thin ring at best; murky brown body with swirls of coffee syrup; dusty residue coats the glass from beginning to end. Nose is strong coffee with a whiff of bourbon; boozy retro nasal. Sweet bourbon ball chocolate candy with coffee bean center; vanilla on backend; sweet chocolate mocha finish. Silky smooth feel; medium full body; light carbonation; mouth warmth from 15.2% abv; heavy sediment/sludge in bottom of bottle that was off putting. Overall, coffee, yes, overly sweet like a Starbucks white chocolate mocha iced coffee; sweet coffee syrup linger.

The beer is near black with a small, rapidly disappearing tan head. There is no lace.
Aroma of coffee and roasted malt.
Amazing taste. Strong espresso to begin, a little vanilla and a little chocolate, some caramel, and a big bitter coffee finish.
Very smooth beer, flavors just explode in the mouth.
Alcohol very well-hidden. Amazed to see the ABV of 15.2%.
