12 ounce bottle, looks like the date stamp says 10/31/2023, thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head that didn't stay around for too long. There's a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, coconut and some bourbon. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some burnt/charred malt, dark bread and coffee flavors. The coconut and vanilla flavors stand out to me, but they don't overpower the other flavors either. Gets sweeter tasting as the beer warms up. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit rich with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew, hope they make another batch of this at some point!

Black color. Thin, beige head. Chocolate, coconut, bourbon, and vanilla in the aroma. The same notes follow into taste. Moderately sweet. Warming finish.

Look - Pours a nice black color with a decent head that lasts a little time before disappearing.
Smell - Bourbon, coconut, and vanilla. Very nice!
Taste - Coconut, bourbon, and vanilla.
Feel - Nicely carbonated. Could be just a tad sweeter for my personal liking, but VERY nice for a 15.7ABV beer.
Overall - Another great stout from Prairie. I REALLY like Prairie stouts.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This fridge lurker pours a murky blackish brown with
a moderate head of brown foam that settles to a thin ring, light clumping layer, and
has some faint lacing but some nice legs. Nose of rich bourbon, vanilla, cream, dark
chocolate, and toasted coconut. Flavors surpass the nose with mellow bourbon, oak,
vanilla cream, toasted coconut, dark roasted malts, dark breaded malts, moderate
char, dark cocoa, dark coffee, and subtle brews licorice. Mouth feel is full, smooth,
rich, coating, warming, light carbonation, and finishing with....I can't feel my lips....
a lightly bitter malt and bourbon finish that is moderately dry.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a great brewery!
Cheers

Dis gon be good! Bottled 2023/10/31
Pours inky black and thick, with a blackish 1/2 finger fizzy head with fair to lower retention, a bit of lacing, some legs and glass coating
Nose is intense, loads of dark chocolate, roasted malts, cocoa, fudge, a lot of vanilla as well, some candy bar and fair toasted coconut although that seems drowned out a bit, nougat, baking spices, raw cocoa nibs, little burnt molasses and hint smoky, a bit of toasted oak
Taste starts again with thick fudgey chocolate, cocoa, dark chocolate, and more raw cocoa nibs, layered with thick vanilla, vanilla and chocolate frappe blended, a bit fruity, into some coffee, dark roasted coffee and roasted malts, but no char, although a bit of a burnt caramel or molasses character, nougat, baking spices, some toasted coconut but less than I expected, mild toasted oak, just a touch of bourbon sweetness, chewy oatmeal, a bit of smooth alcohol but hidden well, some bitterness from the roasted malts, getting more of a creamy coconut as it warms, a bit nutty as well into a nice mounds bar, fairly sweet sticky finish, a flash of alcohol warmth, some coffee, bourbon and loads of chocolate and vanilla lingering
Mouth is full bod, thick chewy viscous, creamy as well bordering velvety, lower carb but OK for style, smooth alcohol
Overall a desert beer for sure but not an over the top pastry stout kinda thing, they know how to balance it well. That being said, I do wish the coconut was more prominent, as well as bourbon barrel notes but hard to get those with the intensely dark flavorful beer

It's been so long since I last had regular Bourbon Paradise it's hard for me to make a comparison to its forebear. That said, this one was quite nice, especially in the flavors, with rich notes of vanilla frosting, brownie batter, toasted coconut, and wet bourbon barrel. The aromas had a slight cherry note, which made me nervous that the bottle may have been infected, but it wasn't. Oily but not particularly viscous mouthfeel

Pitch black body, dark brown cap. Huge vanilla and coconut explode in the nose with bourbon, molasses, and wet oak in the background. Taste has the vanilla wrestling the lead away from the now second fiddle coconuts, barrel is a distant backseat here, sweeter tones drawn out like caramel, molasses plus chocolate. Usual prairie stout feel: smooth with a touch of ruggedness, warming and full bodied in a drier way

Oh Prairie, will you ever make a bad barrel aged stout? Standard BA story on look, ho hum. Strong barrel aged stout backbone with subtly sweet coconut and vanilla adjunctness on smell and taste. Well balanced flavors in a way that these guys are excellent at. Just a bit of a thick syrupyness, but I drank this at room temperature, which I’ve found sometimes plays with the true character of the beer. Booze is strong, but less assertive than I expect, burn is on the lingering aftertaste. All in all, amazing as usual.

Pours dark as hell. Smells of coconut and vanilla. Rich, chocolatey, coconut, vanilla goodness. This one is boozy! I like it but wish it had another flavor profile added to it and the mouthfeel was just a little more chewy. Dam good pastry stout and a sipper for sure.

On tap. Tan head. Black color. Leaves legs.
Strong, bourbon, oak, char, fudge, coconut. Warming. Big barrel flavor. Chewy oak. Smooth and doesn’t have a pastry mouthfeel which is nice. Delicious.
