Slightly hazy, transparent bright yellow color. Medium-sized, eggshell-white head. Good retention, some spotty lacing.
Extremely lemony aroma, like pure lemon zest and lemon candy. Am I crazy? It smells exactly like the Waterloo Guy Fierri limoncello sparkling water I just bought. It's straight lemon sorbet! Perhaps a faint hint of herbs also.
Taste follows the nose almost precisely. Big pop of fresh lemon--sweet, candied lemon, though. Lemon zest and sugar. Dried lemon peel. Lemon-flavored candies. Lemon sorbet. Crisp cracker malt. Vanilla and honeycomb. Some mild and non-bitter grass. A faint suggestion of white pepper. Finishes with so much candied lemon. Tastes exactly like a lemonade or something. Crazy. Tastes like it's gonna finish too sweet, but yet, it's actually quite clean. I want to be mad at how good this is, how inauthentic and almost offensively untraditional, and yet, I'm not. It's delicious. Oh man. I love this!
This is a unique pilsner that exemplifies the Italian pilsner style in a new and unique way that encapsulates a new direction perfectly.
