Poured into a snifter. A moderately hazy muddy rust color with a modest off white head. Aromas of vanilla, bourbon, caramel, cherries, and floral esters. The taste followed with a restrained barrel and a nice fruity, malty quad. Full bodied but dry and clean on the finish. Very easy to drink for such a big beer. Well done.

12 oz wax dipped bottle poured into a wine, ok tulip glass. Pour is a medium brown with a light cap of mocha foam, and a clear and bright crimson hue in the light. Offers good retention and lacing for the barrel.
Nose is muddled with some caramel, some wood and some bourbon and a hint of carob. Nicely balanced and with a bir of creamy spice and some residual yeast notes that survived the barrel. Taste follows with some oak up front, then a bit of light sweet dilute chocolate and with an everpresent bourbon note in the background. Finish lingers nicely initially though less so with exposure. Touch more sweetness on the finish and evidence of the base beer here.
Crazy quaff for a 12 % brew as my brain acknowledges yet my nose and tongue would never have guessed.
