On tap at Amplified Ale Works on Pacific Beach in San Diego.
Pouts a quite hazy golden yellow colour with good finger of foamy white head.
Aroma cold quite muted - certainly some piney hops, a touch of citrus - slightly more evident as warmed.
Tastes explodes with a barrage of hops - pine, grapefruit - bitterness hits early and really overwhelms the malty sweetness which is somewhat in distinct - the bitterness does become a little taxing; certainly a boozy underbelly also.
Full mouthfeel - bitterness builds and lingers (present 20 minutes plus past finishing the pour) - decent carbonation. All that said, I still enjoyed this but not clear it would be my go to in a February awash with Triple IPAs in San Diego.
Second chance at this beer at Mission Valley Beer and Food Fest - same beer but remarkably better - much less bitter - smooth and well balanced - not sure why the difference but this was great on second pour!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
