Golden yellow with one finger frothy head. Excellent retention.

Nose is non existent other than some yeast presence.

Tons of candi sugar overpowers anything else that may be present. A bitterness develops in the finish where the yeast also creeps up. Does not hide it's ABV at all.

Overall a miss, very sweet and just a touch of a Belgian influence due to the candi sugar and yeast. For the price of admission this was way off the mark.

A:
Pours a slightly hazy orangeish straw
with a finger of airy beige head that immediately evaporates to nothing.
No retention; no lacing to speak of.  (3.25)

S:
Sweet yeastiness. Pizza dough, white pepper, phenolic zip, sweet alcohol, sugar, slight oxidation, light hop bite. (3.5)

T:
Sugary bread, phenols with hints of spice, some bite from the hops and a moderate but noticeable alcohol presence. (3.5)

M:
Warming, almost-sticky body with moderate carbonation and a lingering booze/hop finish. (3.5)

O:
A tasty Belgian pale ale.
This is a-good-side-of-middling-looking beer with a lot of sweetness, some phenolic spice and a little hop presence with a sluggish alcoholic warmth. It is not terrible; but between the sweetness, the lack of hops to balance and the alcohol it induces a little shudder as it warms.
It is tasty, but not my favorite as far as this style goes. If it was a little drier I feel that it would really benefit. (3.5)

Growler: Poured a nice clear golden color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of rose water with fruity ester, candi sugar and some lightly peppery yeast notes. Taste is overly dominated by rose water notes with some fruity ester, too much candi sugar and some light peppery yeast notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. OKish but too sweet and too perfumy for my taste.

Bottle delivered by Brew Donkey. From notes.

A - Poured hazy golden with strong carbonation. One finger of white head on top left spotty lace and a film of retention.

S - Banana, sugar, grain, lemon, some booziness, honey.

T - Alcohol, grain, sugar, really yeasty, lager-esque notes.

M - Appropriate carbonation, frothy medium body and a dry finish with sweet yeasty notes. Frothiness is a bit unpleasant.

O/D - A bit of an odd one from the BTP boys. Yeastier than other examples with nothing really jumping out and doing anything to stand out. Very little sets this apart. It was also filtered and not bottle conditioned, which may have contributed to the flavour profile in a negative way. All in all, this wasn't too bad, just not up to par with some of their other offerings.
