Big juicy double IPA hopped exclusively with Mosaic and fermented with British Burton Ale yeast. We think it is the Fruit Basket without the fruit. You be the judge.

A: A yelowish orange in color, with a large white head.

S: Big citrus and tropical fruit, with a hint of onion or garlic.

T: Hoppy with mild citrus, and a lot of the onion coming out, if I didn't know it was mosaic, I would have assumed there was a ton of simcoe in this.

M: Medium thick in body, but the higher carbonation makes it seem a little lighter than it is.

O: Overall, not bad, but I was hoping for a little something more.

Pours a clear bright yellow golden color with white head. Citrus, pine, light fruits, and some cereal grains on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied and sticky. Finishes with more of the same, just lots of it.

Very average DIPA. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head that fades fast. Minimal lacing. Aroma is malty and a little stale. Flavor is malty, with a little fruit hoppiness but also a hint of vegetables and onions which make me think of Summit hops (not a favorite). Mouthfeel is flat, alcohol hidden well, but not a lot of fresh hoppiness. OK, but I didn't think it was that good.

There is no date on the bottom of the can or the label. The cans I bought say "8.0% Alc. by Vol." on the label.

Appearance: The body is a nice medium shade of copper with a little bit of haze. It has a thick and fluffy white head. It has good head retention and lacing.

Aroma: It has a nice savory aroma of garlic and onions. It has a bit of a rye bread smell to it.

Taste: Up front there is a great bread crust flavor that comes through. There is a touch of grapefruit rind. The aftertaste has a bit of mango flavor that shows up after that grainy bread crust flavor fades out. It is a very flavorful beer.

Mouthfeel: It is a highly drinkable beer with a body that floats on the lower side of medium. It has just a light bit of texture on the palate and it has an off-dry finish.

Overall: Some of the high points of this beer include the great grain flavor and the sheer drinkability. The beer never tastes like alcohol and at 8.0% ABV that is a great achievement. The can says this is "A West Coast style Double IPA hopped exclusively with the elusive Mosaic hop." I could pick up some of the fruitiness that is often found in Mosaic but really the showcase of the beer had to be the malt. The malt character just tasted nice and fresh. I have no idea how old or new this beer is but whatever the case I would still recommend it and I would drink it again.

An extremely well done west coast IPA. Quite shocked at how well this beer was pulled off. Highly recommend.

Canned 5/18/17
Poured into a nonic style pint glass.

It pours a mostly clear rich golden orange and is capped with one plus finger of white soapy foam that fast fades to just a thin cap.

The nose is fairly strong, resinous hops and base malt with a sweet aroma that may be the Mosaic hop or a fruity ester. The bitterness is moderate, bread and sweet resinous hop flavors, fairly straight forward. While fairly sweet it does dry out at the finish. The 9% ABV is well disguised. On the light side of medium bodied with carbonation in the medium high range it leaves a bit of a chalky coating on my cheeks.

A nice DIPA, with the Mosaic hops taking center stage.

Poured from a 12oz can into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a slightly hazy golden orange with a head that settles quickly.

Aroma has a definite tropical notes, mango and maybe tangerine.

Body is a little thin but flavorful and fruity.

3.47/5: Without the fruit, it's a sound but unspectacular DIPA featuring a pleasant grassy bitterness

Appearance - Pour deep golden color with decent white head,

Aroma - Light pine and orange peel with a touch of grapefruit. Solid malt aroma as well.

Taste - It is evenly balanced some ripe orange and mango mixed with a slightly malt forward flavor.

Feel - Medium bodied slightly dry bitter finish.

Overall - A decent DIPA most impressive is the missing alcohol surprised that it did not show up more.

12oz can served in a tulip. 05/17/2017 is stamped on the bottom.

Pours mostly clear bronze color with a medium sized coarse head and medium to high carbonation. Smell is bright and fruity, I think I get mango and maybe passionfruit. Smells nice.

Taste is much danker -- musty, earthy, almost a brett characteristic. Fruit is still there, but it's more like overripe passionfruit or something now.

Mouthfeel is smooth and thick. Good beer.
