Appearance: pours a earthy to burnt orange color, bordering on amber. a small off white head forms but has fairly weak retention and leaves little to no lacing behind. Super hazy and opaque.
Smell: lots of Brett aroma. stays mostly on the fruity side of the spectrum with notes of pineapple and some cherry to berry vinaigrette. some earthiness leading into a white wine aroma.
Taste: opens up with pineapple mixed with a little bit of funky, earthiness. some acetic acid comes through. White wine grapes are strong and complex. more wooden and earthy qualities followed by addition fruitiness near the end.
Mouthfeel: medium to full body. strongly funky but still refreshing. mildly acidic.
Overall: the strain of Brett Champion uses is a very nice and fruity one. very approachable and not to intense. I really like the wine barrel character and complexity found in this one. Kudos to another year!
