On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown colored head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, roasted malt and burnt molasses. Very roasty with a touch of smoke and coffee.

Overall: This is a great export style stout. West Flanders is also one of the few places that I’ve been to that doesn’t serve their beers too cold. Dangerously drinkable at 7.7%.
Appearance: It’s a stout – dark, black with ruby highlights around the edges. Almost no head on mine.
Aroma: very subtle chocolate, but not much on the smell.
Mouthfeel: low carbonation, velvety.
Taste: chocolate with what I perceived as lactose sweetness. Very subtle baker’s chocolate bitterness. I could not taste any of the alcohol.
