A: Black in appearance. Warm mocha colored head with good retention given style.
S: Dark fruit; raisin and plum. Corn grain sweetness. Berries. Vanilla, licorice/Fennel, molasses.
M: Full body. Satin feel. Alcohol warmth. Medium carbonation.
T/O: Blended nicely. Chocolate and light char, coffee astringency; golden raisins and fig. Strong rye component really numbs the palate while parlaying a burnt grain sweetness. Residual bitterness and warmth. If im comparing it against other RIS it's up there. Middling as far as ba stouts are concerned.

Igor’s Dream 2014
Bottled 12/20/13 in 750 ml corked Bottle
10.9% ABV
Sampled 1/1/15 – cost $20
Appearance – It’s a stout. Pours with a medium fine tan head that dissipates within a few minutes. Not too fast but not too slow, which would bother me for some reason.
Aroma- Light on the nose with notes of French Roast coffee, dark chocolate and simple whiskey. A hint of cola can be detected.
Taste – You get what you smell and the deep flavor of a chocolate malt (not the black patent malt expected). Nicely balanced except for the annoying taste of cheap rye whiskey. Perhaps a person that likes rye would really like that but, Two Roads, if you’re listening, don’t use rye again, or perhaps use a better one. Big difference from the Bourbon ‘Dream’ of 2013. Body is a bit thinner than expected being about medium.
Final Thoughts – Aside from the Rye, this Russian Imperial Stout is very good and well worth trying, if you can get some. A rare treat in deed since it was only available at the brewery with very limited production.
