Jet black with sepia film; mellow coffee with a woody, bourbon barrel edge; fudge, black bread, dried figs, a coffee truffle hit, toffee, mild vanilla-as-wood thread + gentle roast end; full, chewy, round, low carb.

Super mellow: deep, rich + round, no rough edges + no heat.
The nose is a little wonder, too; plays like it’s barrel-aged - that’d be the coffee beans.
Sweetens as it opens and the vanilla has faded, mostly, except for that nose. There’s also no acid off of the coffee while the chocolate is dark but not bitter.
Whisky barrel doesn’t come through on the beans as much as it maybe needs to for this to balance. But a smooth operator.

A dark black color on the pour with a big and frothy brown head of layered foam. Roasted malts on the nose but not as strong as I expected. Big roasted chocolate malt carries right over from the nose on the first few sips. Decently smooth on the flow and with a bittering finish. Additional notes of coffee grinds, vanilla, cocoa, brown sugar, and black liquorice. Full bodied with a mix of dry/sticky feel. Some alcohol burn on the finish but otherwise the abv hides rather well.
Overall, pretty decent stuff but I'm not really wowed with it. I wish the coffee was more pronounced but it may very well just be an older bottle.

Poured from a tall bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L : Inky black pour with 2 fingers of foamy brown head. Great lacing.
S: Coffee, cocoa, and roast.
T.F: Bitter and roasty... strong espresso and char. Dark chocolate, vanilla, and chicory. Could use a little more sweetness to round out the bitter roast. Baking cherry. Creamy on the tongue. Warming... ABV mostly hidden. More roast and coffee at the finish.
O: A rock solid Imperial coffee stout from Singlecut. Great flavor... and my only quibble is that it could have used a little more sweetness for balance. Otherwise fantastic.

t: sweet roasted malts, a hint of bitter roasted malts, and freshly ground coffee beans. some sweet dark fruits and cola behind that. candi sugar and a mixture of dark and milk chocolate. rich and silky sweet malts with a hint of leather. more coffee bean and sweet roasted malt to close with a subtle kiss of vanilla

Served in a snifter glass from the bottle.
Appearance: comes off a deep dark thick opaque Brown, medium bubbles all over the place creating a tan head which rose a notch below a finger's length.
Smell: like coffee aroma, smells a bit like the espresso I make in the morning with hints of Malt.
Taste: bitter beer but offset with a sweet vanilla tone and a dose of mocha which makes it super appetizing.
Mouth: very full bodied beer. Super sticky end obviously the best property of the beer especially when you pair with a little bit of chips and hummus and taste still lingers within your cheeks.
Overall: very good beer and very similar to heavy boots of lead which is also made by single, however this one is much maltier.

A: Pours-pitch-black with a very tall chocolate milk-colored head. Excellent head retention. Very little to no lacing on the glass, however.
S: Tons of coffee with a dark chocolate backing. Don't really get any vanilla in the aroma, let's try the taste...
T: Yum. Bitter coffee up front and lots of it. Nice mingling with a big bitter dark chocolate. It would make for a really bitter experience but there is some vanilla in there helping to sweeten it up. It's not a lot but it's providing a good amount of balance. Mild coffee and dark chocolate linger in the aftertaste forever.
M: Fairly heavy and smooth.
O: Not a bad stout, it's quite good really but I feel like it's missing a lot from the base beer. It's basically all coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Good but has more potential in the tank, IMO.
