3xDH IPA with Pineapple Express Terpenes
In an era of nearly unlimited couchtime, we've found our minds exploring the quieter corners of reality. Suddenly the drone of fuzzy guitars and mumbled angst makes a whole lotta sense. It's time for some SHOEGAZER.
Taste Now // A new highwater mark in aroma in a single IPA- intense candied pineapple, lemon-lime soda, sweet creamy mango, a subtle but intense peppery tropical note thanks to the beautiful Pineapple Express Terpenes (the aroma component of cannabis), with a finish that hints at kiwi and sticky resin.

Hazy, orange color. Big, white head. Pineapple and mango dominate in the fruity aroma. Juicy taste with moderate, hoppy bitterness. Tastes more like a NE IPA.

Orange juice looking beer with 2 fingers of head that leaves patchy lacing.
Smells of pineapple, orange, mango and lime zest.
Taste follows the nose with a slightly dank, bitter finish. I am getting a faint lemon-lime soda flavor in the aftertaste.
Smooth mouthfeel with medium carbonation.
Unique and interesting. A nice change of pace from the sweeter beers of the style. Glad I tried and will try to pick up a few more singles before they are gone.

NE IPA with a weird after taste of grass or weed definitely something funky that I can’t put my finger on. Overall solid beer with a medium body and a some lingering bitterness

The most radical IPA I’ve tasted. The Pineapple Express terpenes have an unusual taste. Tropical fruit and more.
Worth checking out.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazy golden pour with 2 fingers of foamy white head. Nice ring of lacing.
S: Ripe citrus, pineapple, and weed. Herbal and pungent.
T.F: Pineapple and citrus up front. Some dankness and herbal cannabis. Juicy and medicinal... mint and tea. Medium bodied and sticky on the tongue.
O: An interesting brew. The cannabis definitely comes through but works reasonably well with the fruit/citrus. Pungent... a nice change of pace beer but I don't like the flavors enough to want a lot of it.

A gimmicky new IPA from Singlecut, Shoegazer is a "cannabis terpene-inflected" beer clocking in at 7.5% ABV. The description of the beer on the Singlecut website mentions that the hops involved are "two juicy stone fruity" varietals, and the beer is triple dry-hopped. I'm expecting greatness, and hoping the gimmick of adding terpenes doesn't negatively affect the final product or recipe. Singlecut can be a little bit of a letdown at times, in my opinion, so I'm obviously hoping this one is great.
Pours a hazy (but not opaque) pale yellow color with light golden hues in the core. Topped off with a nice, retentive head of eggshell-white foam that leaves behind surprisingly-little lacing, Shoegazer is alright looking in my glass. Legs are decent but it's not really an active pour whatsoever. I wonder how terpenes affect lace, because this just looks a bit sad by comparison with other intensely-hopped IPAs I've had recently.
The aroma, however, is not sad. It is weird. I mean, yeah, it smells like an odd pineapple/lemon/herbal strain of weed, for sure. Nailed it. There are notes of papaya and apricot, plus some lighter notes of melon and dankness along with a touch of overripe mango, menthol, tannins, and white pepper. Man, this is definitely unusual. The minty and earthy aspects are really strange but intriguing. I think this might be a winner... they might've done it, folks.
On the tongue, Shoegazer picks up with strong menthol, melon, and mango, with slightly less apparent notes of papaya, candied citrus, and herbs. Very heavy on the terpenes, I can tell. They went all-out with that addition, and the triple dry-hop feels well-balanced and well-integrated as well. Slight tangerine and grapefruit with some delicate grassiness and a finish composed mostly of harsh hoppy hashiness that kind of interferes with the experience. Rough, but this is still pretty damn good. The feel is well-done, with a nicely-detailed carbonation and a surprisingly lean body despite all the hops and other aspects which could potentiall interfere. I enjoy this for the most part... I am not a smoker but I find marijuana intriguing in its own weird way.
