Misc.: Quick review
Grabbed this while with Chris, Bill and Kristine. Was going to get another one of their barrel-aged stouts, but the beertender recommended this. After some snooping, saw that it was a blend of two-plus-year-old wheatwine, wee heavy, doppleback and barleywine with orange peel.
Poured a reddish brown murky color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white head when I got it. Bad watery lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 2.75)
Smelled smooth bourbon, vanilla, toffee, milk chocolate, molasses, caramel, oak, leather and dark fruit. (Smell - 4.50)
Taste followed the nose, but not quite as good. Got smooth bourbon, vanilla, leathery oak, milk chocolate syrup, toffee, sticky molasses, caramel, dark fruit and hints of orange. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Pretty awesome overall. Glad I got to try it. (Overall - 4.50)
