Well, it's kind of an uneven effort, but overall a decent enough quaff. Short head that immediately goes to nada. Kind of an odd peachy colour. Hazy. Looks like some sort of fruit kiddie drink.

Just a whiff of wheat on the nose. Tastes pretty good though. Orange, melon, and wheat. A hint of spice. Just enough carbonation to lend it a bit of a bite. Subtle, but enjoyable enough.

One of the best offerings from this otherwise hit-or-miss brewery. Aside from the somewhat meagre appearance (little head, although it has the orange-cloudy colour covered), this one nails the style: yeasty, doughy, slightly tart, citrus peel, coriander, super fresh and refreshing.

473 mL can from the LCBO; "6166" stamped on the bottom (or maybe 9919?). Served well-chilled.

Pours a cloudy medium-gold hue, fitted with one finger of loose, soapy white froth. The head has largely vanished by the 60 second mark, leaving behind only a thin collar of foam and a few wispy patches on the surface; no lacing. Subdued aroma, with notes of crackery, grainy pale wheat malts and orange peel comprising the bulk of the nose. Hints of coriander and orchard fruit. Pretty typical wit thus far.

Definitely a serviceable example of the style. Grainy pale malt sweetness and some crackery, bready wheat notes provide a relatively neutral backdrop. Hints of apricot and maybe even banana. Flavours of juicy orange crop up mid-sip, becoming more bitter, oily and peel-like as you approach the tail end of the profile. Good showing from the coriander spice at the finish, with a yeasty aftertaste that lingers on the tongue for a few moments. Light-ish in body, but with a sort of slickness to the mouthfeel; the carbonation about right for the style, providing a decent bite with each sip. Wits are not one of my favourite Belgian styles, but this is a slightly above average one.

Final Grade: 3.7, a B grade. It's no Hoegaarden, but if you're looking for a refreshing summer thirst quencher, Walkerville's Waterfront Wit will get the job done without putting up a sweat. It lacks any particularly apparent flaws, and has a nice, refreshing citrusy flavour that complements the spicy coriander beautifully. From a purely 'to-style' perspective, this is the best Walkerville product I've tried so far, and I'd happily recommend it to Ontario witbier fans if they can locate fresh cans this summer.
