At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Argyle Rd. brewery in nearby Windsor. Lot number 4253. My 19th beer from the brewery, and 4th for 2026. Audaciously embraced by Sundae the cat...

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario Canada Smooth Sail Summer Ale craft light ale nice looking can at 473ml 3.9%.
Poured a golden color with a 2 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it.
Very easy drinking with a light bitterness level.
And a lemon and lime flavor.
Overall a very good light beer and very enjoyable to drink it .
Cheers

Pours a nice gold colour, darker than most blondes, with a bright white head sitting on top. A little bit of corn and a little bit of grains on the smell. The taste is hoppy, with citrus-like notes with a bready background. Incredibly smooth going down the hatch

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded 0146 (May 25 2020), listed at 3.9% and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy, pale golden-blonde colour, capped off with nearly one finger of foamy white head that dissipates within the next several minutes. It leaves behind a generous collar encircling a filmy cap, with a modest amount of lace flung about in the process. The aroma is fruity and appealing, with notes of lemon-lime, mandarin orange and stone fruit mingling together atop a backdrop of clean, grainy pale malts.
This is shaping up to be a very nice, light summer ale. Its flavours are restrained, as one might reasonably assume from a light blonde - but the flavours that are there are quite enjoyable, and it's probably the dry hopping that's most responsible. Grainy pale malts and hints of doughy sweetness come through at first, with hoppier flavours of orange, lemon and stone fruit following up through the middle; these are joined (and eventually overtaken) by grassier, floral notes towards the finish and briefly into the aftertaste. Fairly dry, with a light body and crisp, lively carbonation that prickles the palate with enthusiasm. Outstanding drinkability - as sessionable as any macro light lager, except with actual beer flavour also included.
Final Grade: 3.90, a well-earned B+. I mean, it's not the most exciting beer on the planet... but if you're looking for something that's light and refreshing, yet still reasonably flavourful? Well then, Walkerville's Smooth Sail Summer Ale might be just what you're looking for - it's a must-try if you're a Southwestern Ontario native with an appreciation for light ales. Between this and their pilsener, Windsor-ites should be set as far as locally-produced, quality summer options are concerned.
