On tap at GABS festival, May 2014.
Pours a pale straw colour, quite clear for a saison, with webbed out white head, doesn't really stick around. OK, but a bit lacking.
Smells too malty. Grainy, caramel notes, a little bit yeasty. Really don't get a lot of saison, or a lot of funk.
Taste is a little better in some ways but also lacking in others. Not so sweet but kind of lacking in body and flavour in general. Some woody character on the back gives some slightly wild notes and a fair bit of Belgian phenolic character. Not really very saisony and certainly lacking in funk, sadly.
Body is OK but overall feels listless and a bit flat.
Not overly saisony or funky. Kind of a Belgian mild, really.
