L- Strikingly bright amber, verging towards bright orange. A tiny hint of haze. Pours with 3mm white head that dissipates very quickly leaving a sparse patch.
S- It smells of wine, a light dry northern European white wine.
T- It tastes of quite sour sparkling white wine. The wine note is prominent and so dominates I'm unable to find any flavours of beer. There is a woody note in the finish.
F- Like a quite cheap dry white sparkling wine.
O- I've had a few of such beer/grape/wine-barrel combo cross-overs, and this one might be the closest to fully resembling the wine-end of that spectrum. If tasted blind I would hands-down say it's wine, and no way could it be beer.
Certainly something different, but at the price not something I'd buy again.
Bought from WholeFoods, London W8 Fancy 375ml bottle. £8.99[!] BB: [printed at neck of bottle] 04/10/19.
