Sample at GBBF Winter. Dark, clear amber, thin silky head. Malty aroma, sweet, bready. Malts get tannic in the taste, dry, woody. Sweetness disappears.

(half pint cask pour at NERAX on Wed 25 Mar 2026... review copied from notes)

looks and tastes of breakfast tea, with a mellow malty backbone… tea like hop bitter in the aftertaste… smelled a bit tannic? verging on acetone on the nose, but that could be a fervent ferment or transport casualty on the yeast, who knows… lovely menthol vermouth bitterness, layers and builds… a little gassy? Or was it already building up? (2535)

Dark amber.

Light caramel aroma. Some English hop.

Sweet at the start then finishing with a bitter flourish. Stewed hop (cabbage). Becomes balanced at the second gulp (the way I drink beer).

Moderate mouthful.

Nice carbonation as you would expect from the cask (but don't always get).
