Had this on tap at The Avenue Pub in Tuscaloosa - excellent fried green tomatoes!
Anyway, this beer was a very pleasant surprise- this is close to a perfect porter. It is rich, thick, flavorful, and tastes great with food. Deep dark brown color with a beige creamy head and excellent lacing. Nice dark toasted malt smell and taste, pumpernickel bread and a nice smokey earthiness. This is my favorite porter since Edmond Fitzgerald!

This beer is creamy, rich, malty, and very chocolatey. It has a nice aroma of cocoa and chocolate. The foam was tall and bubbly and persisted. The high ABV is well hidden. Served from a crowler.

Pours black to the naked eye, can see some deep walnut highlights showing through when held to the light. Head is nice and creamy two fingers of coco colored goodness that laces well.
Aroma is wonderful lots good roasted malts with loads of chocolate and light vanilla hints along with some earthy peat hints. Smells yummy.
Taste is pretty much like the nose good roasted malts with solid chocolate and vanilla notes. Not quite as wonderful as the nose makes it seem but very solid and better then most. Enjoyable and easy drinking no hints of the 9.1% maybe they will appear after it warms if I can keep my glass full for that long.
Mouthfeel is nice not as full as 9% would have you believe but it is pretty smooth even if its not chewy.
Overall, love my GF for bring me a growler back from Alabama, Can see why this has been called the best beer in Alabama very solid would be drinking this regularly if it was on Tap here in Tennessee.

Pours very dark with a nice tan head. The brewery will proudly tell you it's the best beer in Alabama, and I'm willing to give it to them over a snake handler. If you enjoy it with a meal, definitely factor in that the beer likely has a shitload of calories but damn it's good. Worthy of a Rollll Tide

This is a great beer. On a scale of 0 to 1, I'd give it a 1.

Don't think this is the double, but I don't feel like making a new beer. Bottle 131/192.
