Here's one guy's take and it's free and worth exactly that. Porters are my favorite beers and stuff like fruity IPAs or Coors Light is my least favorite (I'll drink one if I've just sweated buckets and the temp is bumping 3 digits) which should throw some perspective. I want my beer to be deep malted flavor and after that it's a game of finding one with the proper combination of sweet and bitter. Parkview has managed to pull this off quite well. Its deep malt flavor hits the right notes of coffee, hint of dried cherry, and chocolate without any smokiness that defines the ubiquitous Guiness Extra Stout. Sweeter than many porters it is nonetheless not too sweet to compliment the bitter hops even hiding the rather high gravity nicely. This is simply, for my tastes, an outstanding beer. Available only in cans is the only faux pas...but, I've learned to pour so all is well, lol!

Very nice flavor, nice dark brown head. Balance between sweet and bitter is right on the money. It’s also got a mood enhancing 9.2 % alcohol by volumn. It’s just the thing for a cold, snowy evening at home. Alabama has more than its share of craft breweries and excellent beers.

Parkview Porter has a very thin, beige head, no lacing, and a dark brown appearance. The aroma is of dark brown bread crust. The flavor is similar, with nearly-burnt char notes. Bitterness and sweetness are moderate. Parkview Porter has a thin body and a medium-dry finish.

Pours a dark small tan head light lace.
Aroma is dark malts, dry bakers chocolate light anise notes.
Taste is light roasted malts , black patent malts, dry bakers chocolate notes. light and dry tasting. Not complex or great not bad but guess I was expecting more like their fabulous Downtown North Porter.
Mouthfeel is light for this big of a beer medium, carbonation in nice and smooth though.
Overall eh not bad but why brew this when you already have the best porter in Alabama?

New addition at Cottage Hill Package. 6pk for a reasonable $10.99. Typical dark porter look with caramel odor and minimal head. Very appealing sweet malt taste. Alcohol present but nor overpowering. Not a Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter, but definitely will purchase again.
