This one is a solid, soft dark gold color. The beer develops a creamy sort of head about one finger tall with moderate retention. Lacing is in moderation as well, pretty good overall, and mostly spotting but with some patches here and there.
This beer is everything advertised: the lime is there, completely fresh, tart and sweet with the natural very light, easy bitterness particular to lime. Graham cracker crust is there. It essentially is what you'd expect from a key lime pie-flavored beer. The assistant brewer told me they actually just stand over the beer at some point in the brewing process crumbling graham crakcers into it. It actually works, believe it or not. Ultimately, as everything comes out including a malt base that lets the "pie" be the main attraction, it's more complete and rounded out better than Shorts' version, the only one like it I've had thus far.
It's a simplistic but not shallow beer in the feel. There's a light to medium body with a modicum of both crispness and smoothness.
