Type: 8-oz. draft
Glass: Wine glass
From: Black Bottle Brewery in Fort Collins, Colo.
Price: $5.00 ($1 off with Happy Hour price)
Purchased: April 17, 2015
Consumed: April 17, 2015
Misc.: N/A
Poured a dark mahogany, almost black color with one finger of khaki head when I got it. Very light spots of lacing on the sides of the glass. Average retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Got a pleasant whiff of sourness up front. Then cherry, Smarties, Sweet Tarts and strawberry. (Smell - 4.25)
Booziness came first in the taste, which was surprising for just 6.7 pct. ABV. Also sour cherry, raspberry, Smarties, Sweet Tarts and whiskey. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, boozy finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was good, but not great. Not as balanced as I’d hoped with too little sour and too much booziness. I probably overrated it a bit. (Overall - 4.00)
