A 500ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2018. Purchased recently from Morrisons as part of their beer festival. The label describes it as a traditional pale ale hopped with Cascade and Chinook.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A bright, clear amber colour with good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of mild citrus, grass/hay, subtle floral notes, ale yeast, light malt and a twinge of sulphur in the background. Pretty good.
T: Tastes of crisp, aromatic hops with notes of light citrus zest, grass/hay, mild floral hints, leafiness, ale yeast, grainy pale malt and a touch of sulphur. Quite dry, followed by a balanced hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Perhaps a tad fizzy for the style. Aftertaste of grassy aromatic hops, faint citrus, ale yeast and subtle pale malt.
O: Rather good - balanced and refreshing. Looks the part, while the aroma and flavour deliver grassy, zesty hops underpinned by ale yeast and light malt. Body is OK. Goes down a treat; would be perfect in summer. Worth sampling.
