Tap at the brewery.
Red brown. Earthy rye aroma. Taste nice full earthy character with mild rye bite and gentle spicy bitterness. Light and gentle but characterful. Balanced. Nice rye beer. Tried it because I was there on the Brewery tour, but I'll stick to the cask ales.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of March 2019. Purchased a little while back at the brewery. The label describes it as a red rye ale that includes crystal rye among the ingredients and is hopped with Willamette, Sovereign, Citra, Amarillo and Chinook.
A: Poured into a tulip. A clear reddish-marmalade hue with moderate carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for moment or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of citrus peel, mild pine, caramel malt, rye, grain, subtle spice and ale yeast. Pretty good, though the hops are somewhat subdued.
T: Tastes of mild aromatic hops with notes of citrus peel, pine resin, subtle weed, stewed hops, caramel malt, rye, grain, spice and ale yeast. Somewhat sweet, followed by a substantial hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with lively carbonation and good body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of caramel malt, rye, grain, stewed hops, subtle citrus/pine and ale yeast.
O: A decent red ale with nice rye presence. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are sweet and grainy with some hop notes. Body is OK. Hop character not as aromatic or pronounced as might be expected; comes across as a tad faded. Drinkable but the hops need a boost. Worth trying.
