Bottle. Clear auburn with a thick frothy head which subsides slowly to a ring of fine bubbles.
Smells of sweet malt and dark fruit. Toffee apple discerned.
Tastes of candyfloss, stewed prunes and barley water. Hints of liquorice.Hops present but rather distant which provide a light bitter finish.
Thickish feel with a low carbonation. Sticky lips. The alcohol is well hidden.
I would like to have tried this on draught which would perhaps reduce it's sweetness.
