Very nice Brown. Lots of vanilla in the nose and flavor, with toasty pecans complimenting the base brown's natural nuttiness. A bit of burn from the booze, but otherwise a nice selection.

Outstanding imperial brown ale sampled on tap at the Mitten. Very dark brown, almost black color with some mild head and some spotty lingering lacing. Smells of roast coffee, maple and malt. Tastes of dark roast coffee, maple, wood, hazelnut, cashew, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla and malt. Very smooth, mild, moderately creamy mouthfeel with the right amount of carbonation. Just a hint of an alcohol hit but expected given the high 12.5% ABV. Some nice warming alcohol. An excellent beer that gained a little complexity and smoothness as it warmed.
