Served as part of a flight, 6 oz sample in a sampler glass at the brewery
Appearance: Great dark copper color and not completely clear.
Smell: After letting the beer sit for a little while, admittedly while tasting the other beers in the flight, the typical bourbon barrel notes come through. Oak, Bourbon, and vanilla.
Taste: There is definitely a pronounced bourbon and alcohol character, but it is not overpowering. The Batch 100 has a nice sweet and malty flavor with a pleasant finish. Oak, Bourbon, Vanilla, Caramel
Mouthfeel: Neither too watery nor too syrupy, it is what you would expect of a Wheatwine.
Overall: Part of a flight at the brewery, last in the one I tried. At 11% and bourbon barrel aged, there was a boozy bourbon character. Really enjoyable sipper. Sweet flavor, but still balanced. This is one of those beers to let sit and warm up and let those flavors really develop.
