This ale was inspired by “Capirinha” the national cocktail of Brazil, this year’s host country for the FIFA World Cup. Made with sugar cane and over 30 pounds of zested limes, this ale is overflowing with bright and refreshing flavors of lime and balanced wonderfully with the rum-like sweetness of fermented sugarcane. Saude!

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a light, yellow coloring, with a filmy, clingy, white head. Nose of subtle citrus notes, very subtle, and not much else. Flavors are very floral and herbal, with a blast of hibiscus, rose, and grass. Light, effervesced body, with a light, herbal aftertaste. Effervesced finish, with a subtle herbal linger.

Had on-tap at Wicked Weed. Served in a mini tumbler.
A- Pours a light golden color with a 1/4 inch head that retains a bit before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a jagged ring behind.
S- Slight amount of soapiness, trace amount of lime citrus and not much else.
T- Straightforward beer flavor with some mild like citrus and creeping moderate hop bitterness. Easy to drink, almost too easy. Kind of reminds me of a lager.
M- Tight and kind of zesty but quenching with medium carbonation and a very light body.
O- What a letdown. Caipirinha is one of my favorite cocktails and this doesn't even come close.
