The mostly clear orange tinged amber beer pours into a Duvel glass with a 2" off white head that recedes slowly, as if reluctant to do so. While receding it leaves lots of nice spiderweb and legs of lacing on the sides of the glass as it eventually becomes a thin cap of foam on the surface. Sipping creates arches, small patches and legs of lacing, many of which cling to the sides of the glass rather than slide back down to the liquid..
The aroma is lightly dank, almost resinous, but with a lot of fruity character. There are also some hints of herbal and spicy character in the background. I'm not really picking up much malt, so, not surprisingly, this one is all about the hops.
The flavors include a good bit of dank pine resin, some bitterness along with that nice fruity character, that seems to include some pineapple, mango and sharp orange zest. This is all backed up by some noticeable but very restrained malt sweetness.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some active, crisp carbonation. The finish begins as the fruity flavors slowly recede, to be followed by the sweetness. Although the resinous zesty bitterness begins to recede as well, it takes longer and so the ending has a nice resinous and bitter back of the palate dryness to it that invites yet another sip.
Overall a well made beer and a quite enjoyable IPA that I'd be happy to have again. The hops are not overdone and are nicely balanced by some background sweetness. It's weakness if any lies in the fact that while it is very good, it is also one of a large number of equally tasty and drinkable IPAs in an already crowded field.

On tap in South Carolina. Hit the spot after arriving in warmer territory, outside on a patio in winter! Definitely has a hop bite, and was a nice change from the usually hazies.

Wicked Weed Brewing "Lieutenant Dank"
12 fl. oz. can coded "DRINK BY 040820 PKG ON 012420 A1 09:56:00"
$2 @ Giant, Havertown, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: Great label design. Hazy golden body. Full head of white foam. Pleasant aroma of gently sweetish golden malts, flowers, apple, tropical fruits, and delicate pine and herbs. The flavor delivers a wider array of hop notes including orange, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, herbs, earthiness, pine, and peppery spiciness. There's a little bit of a resinous or "dank" character to it but I'm not sure I'd have named this "Lieutenant Dank". No, I am sure, I wouldn't have. A firm bitterness balances it and those earthy, piney, and spicy notes linger softly. It's pretty well rounded in terms of malt, fruitiness, and earthiness/pine. It's medium bodied and crisp. I'll call it as a somewhat basic but solid IPA, and it could even be a go-to IPA to keep around the house, but it's not very inspiring.

Solid IPA with more of a pine flavor than citrus. Has a bitter dry finish with very nice mouth feel. My six pack wasn’t super fresh but still tasty. I will look for fresher next time. This beer didn’t stand out for me.

This has a cannibus-y hint to it That I was not picking up on for the first few cans. I like beers with the hempy flavor. Nice sticky hoppy flavor. Hints of sweet pineapple on the back-end. It's not devastatingly strong like space dust. Nice simco bite but very smooth! I misjudged you, wicked weed. 8.5/10
