Notes via stream of consciousness: The label reads "DR. DANK CITRUS-PASSIONFRUIT IMPERIAL HAZE" and lists the alcohol content at "9.1% ALC. by VOL.". It's a very hazy golden with visible particulate in suspension beneath a short head of white foam. Head retention doesn't appear to be it's strong point as it's already dropped in half. In the nose it's sweetish and bready with just a little bit of passionfruit and orange. The flavor, however, is massive! It's malty sweet and loaded with tangerine and passionfruit, and even some background coconut giving it an almost candy-like sensibility. I'm not sure how much bitterness is in here but it doesn't seem like very much at all. Somehow, perhaps along with the alcohol, it finishes mainly dry. There are some herbal hop notes but they're mild in comparison to the added fruit, and I don't really see it as "dank". There is some, yes, but it's mild. I haven't had any of there other Dr. Dank beers for reference so I don't know what to make of it. I'll assume that the hops come through more clearly in the lower gravity versions. With that said, the body is medium-full and it's creamy-smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation. That explains, at least partially, why the head dropped so readily. It didn't leave much in the way of lacing either, there's next to nothing beyond a very thin bit of spots and splashes where the head was first formed. I really like this beer but it's really almost a dessert beer and I would defintely not want two of these in a row. Well, maybe if you put a little umprella in my glass. Kidding. The only other thing I would say is that it's kind of a one-trick pony. The fruitiness is great, and there is a little bit of herbal, earthy, and piney hop character but it's for the most part one-sided. Would I buy it again? Absolutely, but as noted, it's not a beer that I'd drink all of the time.
