summer drinker here, lime and salt in a basic lager, nice change of pace from a lot of the funky stuff of theirs we were consuming in this session, and something that fits the humidity really well, refreshing, rejuvenating even. not saying this is the greatest thing ever, but im also not looking to be super critical of a beer like this, one just for drinking, they cant all be barrel aged spontaneous beers on whole fruit, at least thats what i am told. i think the salt is a neat call, adds interest and a nice drying sensation to a beer that otherwise might have a touch of sweet linger with the lime, which is essence to me, not really tart or anything, obvious but not overdone to me, they go well together of course, which is the point, the base lager is fine, light in body, a little almost corny sweetness in the center, some lightly crackery character to it, nicely lagered with a close to neutral lager yeast, but crisp and tidy before the extras i reckon, if somewhat minimal. maybe a touch of cheapness around the lime, or even slightly metallic as it warms, minor at the most, but when cold its pretty tight. good carbonation in this, light body, quicker finish, easy down and thirst quenching. lots of lime lagers out there these days, the space has really blown up, i like what the salt brings to this, an absolutely key element here. not the most exciting thing these guys brew, but it does what its supposed to, should sell well for them too this summer! golf course, pool side, on the lake or river, backyard cookout kind of beer...
