Full of vibrant berry and apricot notes with a piney complexity, this hazy IPA also offers an exotic, stone-fruit-laden bouquet from the Mosaic hops and a smooth, juicy finish.

Slate is the newest addition to our Shades of Haze series. Each IPA in this series is 100% Cryo-Hopped which means the hops are separated at extremely low temperatures into a potent concentrate providing an intense hop flavor and aroma.

Was psyched to see this one at Trader Joe’s. Almost instantly picked up the cans when I read the back - " Full of vibrant berry and apricot notes with a piney complexity, this hazy IPA also offers an exotic, stone-fruit-laden bouquet from the Mosaic hops and a smooth, juicy finish. Slate is the newest addition to our Shades of Haze series. First two I tried in the series had been decent in Cobalt (3.87 on Oct. 2, 2020) and Jade (3.70 on Oct. 5, 2020), but they weren’t Mosaic.

Poured a medium yellow semi-hazy color with two fingers of rocky white head. Some light bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled Mosaic, Juicy Fruit, mixed berry, mango, guava, tangerine, peach, pine and papaya. Maybe even better out of the can with the addition of earthy malt. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted almost as good as the nose. Damn. Even better than I thought it would. Got big Mosaic, Juicy Fruit, mixed berry, pine, mango, guava, tangerine, peppery spice, peach, papaya, grass and earthy pilsner malt. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Damn. Really liked this. Was back and forth on a few categories, but this was excellent overall for me. (Overall - 4.25)
