The Essential IPA Series showcases standout IPAs that represent the best of this West coast style. Inspired by Milhouse from The Simpsons, this beer is as ebullient as its cartoon namesake as well as Thorn brewer, Josh Coombs. When something goes particularly right in the brewhouse Josh is known for saying, “Everything’s coming up Milhouse!” Flavor Profile: An intense citrus aroma with pronounced lemon notes, this IPA gives off some floral qualities balanced with gooseberries and white wine notes.

Grabbed this a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Bine & Vine’s website called it “The Essential IPA Series showcases standout IPAs that represent the best of this West coast style. Poured a medium gold clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see plenty of fast-moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of glass. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Nelson, papaya, gooseberry, tangerine rind, peach, pine, Centennial and lime. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted just a good as the nose. Kind of an interesting beer. In order got Nelson, gooseberry, papaya, peach, passion fruit, Fruity Pebbles, tangerine rind, Centennial, pine and lime. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.50)

This was pretty damn good overall. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is full of citrus. Taste is oranges, pine, light dankness, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.
