Pours a clear golden amber in the tall Maredsous glass. Spritzy enough with champagne buibbles when you swirl the glass. It has the classic fruity aroma with a whiff of fallen apples in the old orchard.
Some biscuity malt to start with a sweet touch. Fruity with something like apricot and a touch of lemon. Mellow but with an edge of tanginess. The Belgian dryiness comes on after some sipping, but is not overwhelming. Not too sweet, not too fruity, not too dry. This is a really nicely balanced and understated Saison. Just a little funky something to keep it real. Aftertaste has a welcome bitterness and some yeast.
Picked up the jug at the brewpub in North Park. Reasonably priced fill. I think these guys know what they are doing and I look forward to trying more of their brews.
