Loved the base so this should be fun
Light foamy bubbly small head, some lacing, mostly clear honey blond color
Nose bourbon barrel out front, toasted oak woody barrel, big fruity esters still there, very fruity, tree fruit line pear apple, almost pear and apple cider but not cidery, phenol spices, buttery oak as it warms.
Taste big buttery oak out front, toasted oak barrel, some bourbon juice, sweet vanilla candy bourbon, some sweet malts, blond malt, light peppery herbal phenols, pretty fruity again more pear apple juice, some booze warmth. Finish dry little fruity, more booze warmth, little buttery oak and barrel lingering.
Mouth is med bod but seems a little thin for a barrel aged tripel surprisingly, carbonation is on point.
Overall good, I'm mixed on this one, I love the barrel characters but it seems to detract from the great base beer.
