I can see how this name came about...
Frank/Matt: "We should brew a NEIPA"
Brian: "Brew what now?"
Frank/Matt: "NEIPA."
Brian: "What about it?"
Frank/Matt: "What about what?"
Brian: "Exactly."

Anyways, bottled 10/06. A very aggressive pour still can barely yearly a bubbly head that is mostly just oxygen mixed in from my aggressive pour, there is some soapy lacing, a fairly hazy honey blond almost tan color.

Nose some fruitiness, stone fruit, a little melon rind, a touch of citrus, some candy sweet malts and hint of booze, the basic Bog Iron base malt/yeast character that most of their IPAs have, a bit of herbal tea. Not too big

Taste brings a little bitterness out front, not a ton, balanced with sweet malt, a little candy malt character and hint of booze warmth, a touch of fruitiness I think from the yeast maybe some mild esters, hops come with a little herbal tea, some generic fruitiness, an interesting tree fruit almost pear or apple but also a little stone fruit apricot, some pith and a bit of citrus on the back end. As it warms a bit more of the pith and maybe some grapefruit starting to come out a bit, as well as some honey malt, a bit more bitterness on the finish, and a touch sticky.

Mouth is med bod, not too creamy or soft, light on the carbonation.

Sorry boys, this didn't really do it for me, the other NEIPA attempt was better I think. This didn't have much for the hop profile and what it did have was not really what I was expecting, and the mouth was not juicy/creamy/soft, etc, and light on the carbonation. Malts are nice and good balance overall, but not a beer I'd probably get again.
