A 500ml bomber poured into an Imperial nonic pint glass (what else?).
Appearance - Rusty, copper color. A little murky. Thin head. Minimal stickage.
Smell - Sweet. Toasty. Herbal.
Taste - Sweet, toasty malt. Herbal (black licorice). The hops are a bit spicy. A substantial English-like ale.
Mouth - Slick.
Overall - A big yet balanced English ale! I consider this to be a very good facsimile of an Extra Special Bitter. BTW, if you are in the San Francisco Bay area, make your way to Freewheel Brewing. This beer is even better on cask!
