Thanks to leftpaw for bringing this gem out. Really dig Our Mutual Friend (the book and the brewery). Wild times in Denver. Its a collaboration with some yeast and bugs companies in the area. Said to be an experience in wood, stainless steel and microbes.
Anyhoo, this pours like a blonde ale, I believe its a wild blonde ale to get deeper into the subgenre. Pours that familiar dark gold color with ample clarity and 1/3" white head. The aroma is lemon sourness and gristy grain.
Taste goes beyond the aroma. Instead of just the generic lacto lemon powered sour, the bugs/wood/yeast here really start to diversify the fruit-like taste note portfolio. A mixture of citrus and tropical fruit, but not from hops, but all that other aforementioned stuff takes hold. Citrus is still the primary mover of the flavor needle, but there is a light tropical brett like note to it. Definitely has a sharp, acidic, sour and mildly complex aspect to it. Good carbonation. This was a pretty cool beer. Not sure of the price.
