After being insulted by the saison (and the bartender) I thought I'd be balanced and give a review of another of their beers.
This is a stout with coffee cooperation, and it is just that. A coffee forward stout that offers hints of cocoa and roasted malt. It looks good, and the aroma is coffee forward, but not as dominant as, say, Founders. And that's good.
Still, this beer can use some work. The feel is slick and thin. A soft body that is sweet and doesn't produce a good stout bite. It is a good beer, and the best offered yet from OMF

collaboration with their neighbor, huckleberry coffee roasters. this stout pours a reflective polished up dark brown color, almost black, fairly thin looking, with just a quarter inch of tan head. I was disappointed with the head based on the nitro tap, but theyre new so maybe its not dialed up yet. has a nose of fresh coffee, not too intense, but its there. dark malt adds bitterness, and there appears to be some acidity from the coffee. flavor is coffee and dark chocolate, not as bold as it could be, and im really not feeling the jolt id like to feel, but the flavors go together well, and its not overdone. bitter in the finish, with maybe just a touch of vanilla sweetness, not bad at all. feel fell a little flat for me with the nitro this time, didn't cream up as it should, and didn't retain any head at the top. it felt a little too thin for its style, and there was indeed some acidity. a beer I was happy to have just one of, but one that I could easily see improving with time. these guys are just getting going, so I can be patient with the beer for a few months at least... still, a nice start.
