On tap at Valiant Brewing Company in Orange, CA.
Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, grain, fruit, yeast, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same with bubblegum, spice, and yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some solid flavors but there is a sour aroma that is a bit odd.

4 oz. pour into tasting glass (mini-pint) on 16-Nov-13.
Fall Persimmon Saison.
Crafted with molasses, local picked persimmons and graham cracker.
Amber Saison with spicy, herbal, buttery aroma.
A very decent Saison. The persimmon fruitiness doesn't shine as much as I would've liked, but it's still very fruity and sweet in the general sense. I guess it's the molasses. The spiciness and Belgian-yeasty funk are there and hits the spot. Both are not overdone. What impressed me the most was the ABV. I wouldn't have believed it to be so high. I don't get any unwanted heat or booziness. Looking forward to trying this one again sometime.
